Earlier this month, Biana did a blogging Q&A and I thought it would be fun to do one as well! I don’t write about blogging much on here, but it’s such a big part of my life. Plus I love reading posts like this from other bloggers. π
Let’s get started!
Why did you start blogging?
A few months before I started my blog, I’d been searching around for home decor ideas on Pinterest. We’d been in our house about a year, but I was feeling in a rut with decorating. I found a few blogs that I really liked and thought “Blogging. I can do that. It may be fun.” I originally started my blog as Love at 350 Degrees to share my love of baking, but soon decided I wanted to share more, so I changed the name to A Touch of Grace shortly thereafter.
Has blogging created friendships for you?
Absolutely! I have met some of the most amazing women through blogging. And I’ve gotten to meet many of them in person and form friendships! I really had no idea going in that you could become friends with people you’ve only met online, but when you have a shared passion, it’s easy to connect and understand one another. I talk to some of my blogging friends more than my real life friends.
What is your number one tip for blogging?
Have fun with it! Because if you aren’t enjoying what you’re doing, it comes through in your writing and people can feel that in your posts. If you don’t have something to write about that day, don’t stress over it and don’t put out crappy content just because you feel like you have to post every day, or every other day! I’d much rather read a well thought out post that has heart than a post you didn’t want to share to begin with. But I will admit, when I started blogging I had days like this and shared posts like this. No bueno!
What is your favorite kind of blog post to write and read?
I love when people share personal stories, or things that are going on in their lives. I like when people get real and don’t sugar coat everything. My friend Jessica is awesome at this. Her posts are from the heart. She can make you laugh and she can make you cry. But you always know she’s being 100% real. I don’t like fluffy posts that have no depth. Those are just not as interesting to me.
Is it hard to keep up with blogging and your regular every day life?
Heck to the yes! I had zero idea of how much time blogging would take; especially if you want to publish good content! It’s not just the writing of the post, it’s the research, taking and editing of photos and social media that take so much time. Not to mention visiting other blogs and replying to comments. It all takes a lot of time. I’ve tried in the past to have a set blogging time, but I learned quickly that…well….life happens, so now I blog when I have time. Sometimes it’s in the morning, sometimes in the evenings and now most of the time it’s while Little A is at preschool. I see how big bloggers can make this a full time job. It’s a lot of work!
Have you met any bloggers?
Yes! Like the second question, not only have I become friends with many bloggers, I’ve had the opportunity to meet a few in person. Kelli and I have spent a lot of time together and talk/text nearly every day. Jessica was the first blogger I ever met when my family went to Phoenix for a trip. And I met Paige in August when I traveled to Dallas for a convention. I also met a few other local bloggers at a small business event earlier this year.
If you ever plan to visit Seattle let me know! I always love meeting new bloggers.
How much time do you spend blogging?
Not as much as I’d like to. I’m still getting used to being home with Little A full time, and right now I hate to be on the computer when it’s just the two of us. So I’ve definitely cut back on blogging. I’ve had some health stuff going on lately so I’ve been really tired. I haven’t been getting up early, which is also another reason I’ve cut back. Once I’m back to 100% I’ll work on getting up early to do some blogging. I really need to spend time on the back end of my blog. It needs some TLC.
What is your most popular post?
This one surprised me! According to Google Analytics my most popular post is my Fresh Strawberry Muffins. It gets repined every day, so I guess that makes sense, but it just surprised me a bit that one of my recipes was my most popular post.
What is your favorite post on your blog?
That’s a tough one! I’d probably say it’s my post on how I learned to believe in myself. I also really love my post on what it means to be a lady because I still 100% believe in what I wrote and think we need to better embrace old fashioned morals and values as a society.
[Tweet “Blogging is such a big part of our lives. Sharing some fun Q&A today!”]
I love reading Q&A posts like this so I hope you enjoy it as well!
Happy hump day love bugs!
I’m SO GLAD we met, but I’m so sad we don’t live close because I seriously think we’d be great friends who hang out all the time, especially now that you’re home with A too! I could not agree more with the kinds of posts you enjoy reading. This is probably why I like you so much – none of that fluffy crap. Don’t just talk about clothes or makeup, tell me a story about it! Did you use the product wrong? Did you leave that skirt tucked into your undies? Did you fall in those heels? Be real and tell me about it, and I’ll read your blog every single day!
Aww so glad you did this post!! I didn’t originally see that muffin post so I went back to see and it looks so good!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
I have met some of the very best people through our little corner of the internet. It’s AMAZING. π
And I have to admit… your fresh strawberry muffins make my mouth water. It’s no wonder that’s your most popular pin.
I struggle to find a happy medium between “from the heart” and other content. Sometimes I think of something, write it, but think “will people get this, or just think I’m complaining/sad/too excited”. I need to get better at that.
Love this! What a great idea for a post. I may definitely steal/borrow it! I definitely want to go to Seattle and if I do, count me in for coffee and hanging out! π
I love learning more about people π I love the deeper posts, but I also kind of love the fluffy posts to intersperse between the serious ones.

I am amazed by how much time blogging takes but I love it so it does not seem like work!
Isn’t it crazy how much time we devote to it?! But you’re right, I love it so much so it doesn’t feel like a job at all. π
This is so fun! I can relate to so many of these. And your Fresh Strawberry Muffins sound amazing! I can see why that is your top post.
Such a fun post here!! I really enjoyed reading it. I hope you feel better too!!! Well, the muffin recipes are so delicious. You know I have made a few of yours and loved them, so if those pinners actually make your muffin recipes, they are in for a nice treat.
Do you think you will homeschool your daughter? Just curious.
If I ever go to Seattle, I would love to meet ya. I don’t know if I will ever end up there though. If you ever come down my way, you better let me know too π
Feel better soon friend. xo
How fun! I’m so glad that we met through our blogs and have become such good friends π It’s been my favorite part about blogging. And yes! It is SO time consuming – the whole reason I’m not able to much right now. I hope to have more time later to write some “meat-ier” posts because I like the deep ones as well. Have a great weekend, Tiffany!
It’s the first time I visit your blog and like it very much!
I’ve just started blogging 3 months ago and I have a lot of fun. Have a nice weekend!
