Oh y’all I am so excited that it’s Friday! It’s been a hot week here in Seattle (90 degrees!) and I’m looking forward to the cooler temps this weekend (70s). We don’t have AC in our house, so the upstairs gets so hot! Most nights this week it was over 80 in our bedrooms, which makes it really hard for Little A to sleep. Poor baby just sweats and is uncomfortable. We gladly welcome the mid 70s back to Seattle!
And now that it’s summer, I’m seeing more and more vacation posts and I am longing for a European vacation. It’s been years since I’ve been and I have the itch. I tried to convince the hubs to go to Italy for our 5 year anniversary last month, but I was shot down. Maybe next year I suppose. Until then I’ll live vicariously through all your tropical and European vacation photos.
Onto this week’s favorites!

I really do think squats are my favorite exercise EVER. I incorporate squats into every single workout I do, and sometimes I just bust out a few squats in random places: at my desk at work, in the bathroom while giving Little A a bath, in the kitchen while baking. There’s always time for squats. Horse and sumo squats are two of my favorites. Love this graphic from Fit Foodie Finds.

I’m planning on writing a post on my favorite inspirational and personal development books, but I have been dying to share The Alchemist with you guys for months and I couldn’t wait any longer. The Alchemist is about an Andalusian sheep herder, Santiago, who leaves sheep herding behind to travel the world in search of worldly treasures. It’s a book about following your dreams and probably one of my favorite books of all time. 5 stars from this girl right here.
That’s all I got today folks. Linking up with Amanda and Karli!
Have a great weekend love bugs!
I just signed up to get a free chapter to see if I like the book – I know I like the cover haha!! I’m glad the temps are going to go down for you – nothing worse than being hot when you sleep!! Happy Friday! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
Europe! Yes please! I LOVE squats ๐ I have been avoiding them because I have an injury, but can’t wait to get back to it!
Squats and lunges are for sure my faves. And boo for your injury! I hope you’re feeling better soon!
I’ve heard some great things about the Alchemist.
I’m in the middle of a squat challenge, so I will definitely mix it up with these variations.
Those apple cookies look delicious.
I definitely need to pick up that book! She sounds so inspiring.
And girl… You and me both! I’d love to go to Europe!
I love The Alchemist so much!! I bought it for my dad for Christmas. Such an amazing story. I read it at a really strange time in my life. My ex-boyfriend left the states to live in the Middle East a few years ago, and I was basically in tears the entire time I read it. I felt I could relate to the girl in the story so much. But ah, that was eons ago! Still has a special place in my heart for sure. ๐
Did I know that you don’t have A/C?! That’s crazy to me! I’d die here without one :-p I should do those squats…that’d be perfect for Jaelan’s squat challenge! And those apple cookies are a great idea! Have a good weekend, friend!
6 figure income in 2 years??? I am very intrigued!
Those apple cookies look DELISH! And yay for vacation fever… planning vacays is so exciting ๐
Happy Friday!
My aunt gave me a box of her old books and it has The Alchemist in it. I need to read it !
We are so on the same wavelength right now! Your post about your dad is so sweet. My relationship with my dad is…I think I’ll blog about it. ๐
Vacation time? Yes, please! I’m trying to convince M that we MUST go somewhere tropical, but it’s a 50/50 shot we’ll actually go. You know us frugal folks.
I also have been meaning to buy Building a Framework so thanks for the reminder! ๐
And that book looks great! I’ve been wanting to do a post with my game-changing books, too, but I’m waiting to add a few more. I need to read The Alchemist. My sister loved it!
vacation time? Yes please! I think we will do a babymoon sometime this summer before we won’t be going anywhere too far for awhile.
I need to get over and read your post about your dad! I love father daughter relationships! ๐
and those apples, they look delicious!
Happy Weekend Tiff!
