Hello! How was everyone’s weekend? After being without a kitchen for 3 days, we got our counter tops and sink installed on Saturday! The back splash is going in today and I couldn’t be more happy with the result. It looks fabulous (especially my new sink. Y’all didn’t see the old one….ew). I had a feeling once we got the new counter tops in, Huebie would want new appliances. And what do you know, he was at Home Depot that same day looking at new stainless steel everything. So a major appliance purchase may be in our near future as well. Even if we don’t get them, though, I am so happy with the updates we made. It feels like an entirely new space. I’m sure I’ll be sharing the before and after with you all soon.
I started using essential oils a few months ago, and I kid you not friends, I use them every day. They have changed our lives and our health and for that I am so grateful.
I shared with you why I started using essential oils about a month ago, so today I want to share with you my favorite essential oils. It’s really hard to narrow down the list, so I thought sharing my favorite EOs that come in the premium starter kit was a great place to start.
Before I get started, I just wanted to say that I am by no means an expert or a doctor, nor do I claim to be. I’ve seen a few posts lately (one in particular that a friend posted on Facebook) that really bothered me. The author was explaining why she jumped off the MLM essential oil “bandwagon,” and basically claimed that distributors think they’re experts and what they say is 100% fact (which I have never done, nor will ever do). I’ve never experienced this, and while it may be true of some distributors, she shouldn’t label everyone in the same bucket (I HATE generalizations). If she herself felt like she was being labeled as an “expert,” than in my opinion she didn’t do a good enough job telling people that she’s not an expert, and that what she’s telling them is her experience only and what is recommended by the essential oils company. I do know that some distributors have used words like “cure,” which we are not allowed to use by the FDA, and the FDA has educated a few essential oil companies on what they are not allowed to “claim.”
That being said, all I can do is share what has worked for me and my family, and what is recommended by Young Living as use for these essential oils. And I will always tell you to first and foremost, do your research. What works for one person may not work for another.
Now, I’ll step down off my soapbox and tell you what essential oils I LOVE!
PanAway: PanAway is an amazing essential oil. It supports the skeletal system and it’s my favorite oil to apply after a hard workout.
Purification: I think I’ve used this oil more than any other oil because it mixes so well for diffusing. I diffuse it with Thieves and lavender often. It works well on shoe and other odors. It’s also great for skin blemishes.
Thieves: Another favorite of ours for immune system support, it keeps us healthy throughout the year. I’ve put it in my water, diffused it, and put it on the bottoms of my feet. You can make a Thieves tea as well. It’s also a great germ buster. Young Living has an entire Thieves line of cleaning products, health care products (like toothpaste and dental floss) and I recently got some Thieves hand sanitizer that I LOVE.
I’ve been so happy with my oils and am planning to start using them as natural cleaning products as well. I’m slowly adding more essential oils to my collection. There are so many and it’s amazing to see what they can be used for.
Once again, I am not a doctor nor do I claim to be an expert when it comes to essential oils. I cannot treat, cure, diagnose you. I’m just sharing with you what has worked for me and my family. Hopefully this is an FDA compliant post. 🙂
If you have any other questions on essential oils, you can email me at addingatouchofgrace{at}gmail.com, and I will do my best to answer them. But remember, I’m not an expert. 😉
Question of the day: What are your favorite essential oils? If you don’t use essential oils, what would you be interested in learning about?
Happy Monday friends!
I am not a medical professional, and cannot treat, cure or diagnose you. This information is for educational purposes only. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Always consult a doctor first. More than likely your doctor will not be trained in essential oils and will not know all the facts about them, so do your own research first. 😉
I’ve heard a lot about essential oils! So glad that you’ve found what works well for you. I need to pick up some lavender. I think it would be amazing in a bath! 😉
Sounds awesome!! Just out of curiousity, how much is the starter kit & how many does it come with? Actually, I will email ya with these questions, like you said above… LOL!!
Love my oils! I love peppermint!!! Put it on my temples and feels so good 🙂
Between you and Kelli sharing, I can’t wait to order and start using! Thanks for your insight!
Also–I love what you said about being an expert! It is all about your experience! And you are sharing yours beautifully! Happy Monday, girl!
I’m so glad you’re going to start incorporating them into your life Bekah! You will be so happy. And thank you, I’m glad I get to share my experience with you all. 🙂
This is such an informative post Tiffany! I’ve been hearing more and more about them and their effectiveness- especially when it comes to headaches!
You’re shared a couple of my favourite essential oils… peppermint and lavender. I love tea tree oil too – it’s my number one oil for making my own cleaning products. I like rosemary too – it’s one of my favourite home cleaner scents.
Thanks for sharing your EO journey with us!
Wishing you a lovely day.

Thanks for sharing and linking up to the #SHINEbloghop.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Woo hoo! Love my EOs too! Pan Away is one of my favorite! I’m ordering more this month because I’m out. You’re too funny about the Purification…good to know! I also heard the same with Oregano. 🙂
Purification didn’t come in my starter kit because apparently they were running low on inventory? I was really bummed out, but will definitely be ordering it. I put lemon in my water everyday, diffuse thieves and put on our feet…I’ve also used lavender on my skin. I read somewhere that lemon and lavender on your neck can help a sore throat, so I’ve done that several times. It helped me! My husband has acid reflux, so we tried peppermint in his water and digize on his belly and it helped him! I’m pretty new to EO, but am itching to learn more!
I pinned this because I know I want to start out with lavender and peppermint for my birth and going forward so I will have to see what will be next on my purchase list after I have the baby. 🙂
Thanks Brittnei! Yes, definitely check out what you’d be interested in using after baby comes. If you have any questions let me know!
