I promise I reply to all your comments! // No Reply Blogger

October 7, 2014

I don’t do many (or any really) blogging tutorials because well…..I’m not an expert.  So I leave the tutorials to those who are much more tech savvy than myself.  I’ve recently had some folks visiting my blog that are No Reply Bloggers.  For those new to blogging, or friends who aren’t bloggers, being a “No Reply Blogger” means that every time you comment on a blog post, I can’t respond to you via email.  So I have to respond to you in the comments on the blog, which means you have to come back to the blog to see that I replied to your comment.  Not a lot of people do that, so I think most No Reply Bloggers think they are being ignored.

Well I’m here to tell you that you are not being ignored!  I promise I read and respond to every comment I receive on my blog!  And you are not alone!  A lot of folks are still set up as no reply bloggers.

Fixing the problem is really pretty easy, there are just a few things you have to change in your blogger profile. I had my own tutorial all ready to go, but then I found this one by Diana at Anyone Can Decorate and it was so good I decided just to link to hers.  ðŸ™‚  You can go HERE to read the tutorial and follow her instructions. Hopefully this helps some of you ladies who feel like you’ve been being ignored.

CAPTCHA is one other thing that I recommend you change if you use blogger as your platform. CAPTCHA is blogger’s word verification, and requires people to enter a verification code before they post a comment on your blog. A lot of us now blog on our phones, and I don’t know how user friendly CAPTCHA is for mobile devices.  Therefore, this could be keeping people from commenting on your blog.  We don’t want that!  So I found another easy to follow tutorial for you.  Click HERE to remove word verification from your blog and see the comments start rolling in!

Hmm… thanks for the heads up. I’ll have to check mine out. I have no idea what mine is set to. Uh oh! 😉

Hi Jenny! Yes! Definitely go in and change yours so I can email you back when you comment. 🙂 If you have any questions you can shoot me an email.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I hate when someone is no-reply and I can’t find their email anywhere on their blog. I’m really bad at explaining too, so I will definitely send people to that link too 🙂

This is the one thing I do love about WordPress, everyone needs to have an email in order to reply on my posts. Ahhh, no-reply blogger no more.

I dislike how Blogger frequently changes my settings to no-reply. It seems so random when they do too! Whenever that happens, please, please, please email me and let me know. I like to keep the conversation going.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Have a great evening.
    xoxo

You know what? I’m confused. She gives the instructions for if you have Blogger, but I don’t have Blogger, I have WordPress. I don’t get emails from you with a reply to my comments so I started to think maybe Google has me set to no reply? I need to look into this!

    • Tiffany {A Touch of Grace} says: October 8, 2014 at 4:48 am

They do have you set as no reply Brittnei! Jennifer has wordpress too and yes, blogger will automatically set you to no reply unless you go in and change it. I’m not sure how to do that for wordpress but I’m sure there are tutorials. 🙂

I fixed it! I googled it when I came back to see that you said I am set to no reply. Crazy. All the steps I had to do. Sigh!

Yes! Both good tips! Glad you shared links! I hate when I can’t reply to people.

I hate doing word verification!!! ugh!! I always would be bummed when I used to use blogger and people were no-reply! I think this will help a lot of people!

I used to have this problem and had no idea people couldn’t respond to me. I think I’m going to start responding to my comments by email too, it’d be so much easier and faster! And CAPTCHA….oh man I how I loathe CAPTCHA.
