Five on Friday: Getting ready for vacation!

June 27, 2014

Happy Friday!  This is a really good Friday because we leave for vacation on Sunday!  I’m so excited to get to our condo and spend time boating, hiking and wine tasting.  Mostly wine tasting.  ðŸ™‚

This view.  Gorgeous right?!  There are some amazing views of the lake from a few of our favorite wineries. See that little point that goes out into the water?  That’s where our condo is.

Last year just about this time I posted about how to pack kids clothes for a trip.  I’ll be using the same packing system for Little A’s clothes again for this trip.

It makes it so easy to find outfits for the day and keep things organized.  That’s key for me.

Our favorite wineries.

Funny story about Hard Row to Hoe: The name pays homage to the story of a 1930s resident who ran a row boat taxi service to men working up the river.  He would row them from one part of the lake, to a brothel at Point Lovely (another part of the lake).  Hence the name Hard Row to Hoe.  ðŸ™‚
The wives eventually got wind of this and burned the brothel down.  Their wines are aptly named: Burning Desire, Shameless Hussy, Afternoon Delight.  It’s a fun place.

Relaxing.  You will find me in my lounge chair by the pool, magazine in hand for about 50% of the trip.  The lake is really cold, so we don’t let the kids go in it too much (we even wear wet suits when we wake board).  But the pool is fabulous.  Each complex has it’s own pool so they don’t get overcrowded.

Spending quality time with my family and friends.

I can’t wait to have a week’s worth of undivided attention with these two.

I’ll be posting a few times next week but on a pretty relaxed schedule.

Enjoy your weekend!

What a fabulous five! I love your photos and wish I were going with you (I would wear my new skinny jeans or my white denim… thanks for the suggestions friend).

I was looking at your packing stuff – that elephant top… is it a PJ set and come with polka dot bottoms? If so, my youngest has the same set!

Wishing you a lovely weekend and a fabulous vacation!
    xoxo

This looks like a fabulous place! Enjoy your stay there! BTW, what a great idea for packing kid’s clothes. And I love the story about the boat.
