September Goals

August 31, 2017

It’s September y’all!  Well, tomorrow is.  But it’s my favorite month of the year!  September brings my birthday, the start of fall, and what I consider the start to the holiday season.  I mean, if you’re Hobby Lobby you started the holidays in June, but I wait until at least September.

Being in Kansas now it’s definitely going to be a little different for us, but I’m excited to see how the mid west does the holidays.

Here’s how August went down.

Get ready for kindergarten! // She started on Monday and I was a bit of a mess.  7 hour and 40 minute days are long!  For both of us!  But so far she really likes it.

Enjoy our final month of summer // Somewhat success.  Since we decided to move in mid August that sort of took a lot of time away from crossing things off our bucket list.  But we do plan to visit the zoo soon and A said she wants to head to the aquarium in Kansas City, so we will see if that happens this month or not.

Back end blog projects // Obviously I launched A Fit Mom’s Life!  I was so excited to finally pull the trigger.  It’s been so well received by everyone.  My pageviews took a bit of a hit, but I expected that.  Hopefully they pick back up in the next few months.

Share at least one paleo recipe // Fail.  I photographed at least one recipe, but didn’t post it.  I will hopefully share it this month

Here’s what’s on tap for September!

Get into a new family routine // I swear this is my goal like every other month.  But that’s just how often our lives seem to be changing.  Now that A is in school full time EJ and I need to get into a good routine during the day.  A also starts dance in a week and a half so that will change things in the evenings a bit as well.

RELATED  August Goals

Utilize my time during EJ’s nap // Now that I have a few hours during the day to myself, I want to fully utilize that time.  I want to work 3 of those days, clean one and relax or read the other.

One out of town weekend // One of my goals with this move is to explore as much as we can within an 8 hour drive; which is quite a bit.  I’d like to get out of Kansas once a month for a long weekend.  This should be doable with A’s school schedule; they have at least one long weekend a month.

Get the kids signed up for activities // I think I found a great dance studio for A, and they have My Gym here, so EJ can continue to hone his climbing skills…..  Hopefully I’ll be able to meet some other moms that way as well!

Spend quality time with Kellen // We will actually be together more than a few days a month, so I’m hoping we can take some time to reconnect.

Focus on my nutrition // With trying to move in a two week period came eating out a lot and not always eating well.  So I want to refocus on my nutrition so I can reach my fitness goals for this year.

That’s a lot for September, but hey, I got nothing else to do here.  🙂

Tell me one goal you have for September!

I totally missed that you guys were moving, but I’m sure it’s so nice to be with Kellen now! I’m glad A’s enjoying kindergarten– I can imagine it’s a huge transition going straight to a full day of class. It sounds like you guys have some fun exploring to do, and fall will be an extra exciting time getting into new routines.

Your goals sound great! You are so amazing moving and doing everything! Kids classes are such a good way to meet other moms. Have you had any more success finding a good cafe?

I need to balance my time better too – I like that you’re going to try to work for three days and then spend the other two doing other things! I should think of some sort of schedule like that… Genius!

I’m glad that you feel like your new blog name and switch has been met with positivity! It’s always scary making a big switch like that, even if you’re excited about it! And I feel like my goal each month is also to get on a routine haha. Good luck this month!

I’m glad that A is loving school – I can imagine that is a huge adjustment!
