Well hello there! Man, that blogging break was quite a bit longer than I had anticipated. Sorry about that! Life just got away from me and so many things have happened that I’m excited to share with you! Some now, some later, but I will be sharing it all at some point, don’t you worry.
If you’re reading this, thank you for sticking with me while I was away from the blog! It feels good to be back and I’m looking forward to the new direction I feel like I have with A Touch of Grace.
So what happened while I was away from the blog? Ah, where to start! Okay, well, first things first, I should share that I quit my job! Eeek! So exciting! Staying home with Little A is something I’ve wanted to do since I went back to work when she was 5 months old. It’s been a long journey but I’m so excited that I get to be home with her full time now! I 100% have my hubby to thank for that. He has found us savings year after year on our bills, has worked to reduce our mortgage interest rate (thus paying less each month) and has helped us save so much money, all so that I can stay home. I truly am blessed to have such an amazing, supportive husband.
My last day is Wednesday and I have to say I’m a bit nervous, but I’m excited as well. Now I just have to start thinking of activities for us to do each day! Oh where to even start. I’m open to suggestions all you stay at home moms may have!
Some vacationing happened while I was away. We went to South Lake Tahoe with K’s family for a week, which was amazing. What a gorgeous place! I’ll share more about SLT in a separate post, but I highly recommend visiting and not just for the skiing; the summers are amazing as well.
I also went to Dallas for a week for an essential oils convention. It was amazing and I had the best time with Kelli. We stayed at the beautiful Gaylord Texan and I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hotel that big before. It was enormous! There were about 20,000 people divided up over 2 sessions. Just so many people. I don’t love crowds and got a bit overwhelmed at times. But hearing people’s stories about how Young Living has improved their lives and watching Gary Young (founder of Young Living) speak and his passion for the oils (he got watery eye syndrome on more than a few occasions), really proves to me that Young Living is the best essential oil company in the industry. Hands down. No other EO company can say they do what we do and I feel so blessed that I’m part of something so awesome. That and the fact that I haven’t put a single drug (including OTC drugs) in my body in over 9 months, and I’ve been able to use essential oils to manage some of my female issues that a doc would typically prescribe drugs for, makes me feels pretty darn good I have to say.
We also got to see Jon Acuff (guy in the photo above) and Kyle Maynard speak. Jon Acuff has to be one of the best public speakers I’ve ever seen. The guy is hysterical! Don’t believe, me watch this. If you haven’t read his book Do Over, I highly recommend it. And seeing Kyle Maynard speak is probably one of the most inspirational moments of my life. His story and all he’s overcome in his life is amazing.
I’m really looking forward to the coming months being home with Little A, really focusing on this space and just enjoying life. I feel like I’m in such a good place right now so thank you all for still being here for me! It really means so much!
Lots of new fun posts coming your way in the next few weeks. Some new recipes, inspiration and maybe even a bit of fashion. I know, things are getting crazy around here!
Have a great Monday love bugs!
Yay! I’m so glad your blogging break is over. Can’t wait to see what has happened while you’re away.

So, so glad you are back! And so excited for this new adventure of staying home with little A- what a special opportunity. It sounds like you have been busy and the YL conference sounds like it was so fun– love that photo of you and Kelli!
Welcome back! Glad to hear you could quit to be home with A!!
I can’t wait to see what you bring to this space. If I had a glass, if toast to your new journey!
Thanks Sarah! I’m really looking forward to the change of pace and more time with my girl.
Haha! Love our “overwhelmed” faces! :-p I so enjoyed hanging out with you at convention! I just love that we are both a part of such an upstanding, honest company. And I’m super super excited for this new phase in your life…Little A is so lucky to have you. I’m praying for you in this transition, friend!
Yay!!! I’m so excited for you to be able to stay at home with your girl! And welcome back!!! 🙂
So excited for you on this new adventure. I could give you a list a mile long to do with your daughter. The most important thing is not so much going somewhere every day but just taking one day at a time and making memories in the ordinary days. My favorite times were library days with storytimes and checking out books for the week followed by a special treat at a coffee shop. Looking forward to your new inspiring posts.
Thanks Michelle! Story times are definitely on our list of things to do. She loves the library!
YAY for staying home and Young Living! I can’t believe you haven’t used a single drug in 9 months, that is so inspiring. And if you ever need any SAHM activities/day structure survival tips, just holler at me. I’ve got this down! Until baby 2 comes, anyway 😉
Welcome Back! Which week did you go to conference?! I was there for the first session. It was amazing, wasn’t it?! So excited for next year’s. 🙂
