Happy August! Today I’m sharing my (very few) goals for the month!
Honestly, I didn’t know if I was going to write this post or not. A lot happened in July that changed what my August will look like, so I didn’t know if I wanted to set any goals for myself or not. But this little voice inside me said to keep on keeping on, so here I am.
A few big things happened in July. First, we put our house on the market and decided to move to the other side of the state! We are excited and can’t wait to get over there….eventually. The other thing that happened is Kellen was asked to go on another assignment to Wichita. Cue the tears! He was offered a promotion to take the assignment, so it was a hard opportunity to pass up. Ultimately we said yes. This would be good for him, and our family, in the long run, so he left over the weekend. It’s going to be another hard adjustment but I know he’ll be able to come visit every now and then.
Let’s check out how I did on my July goals.
Work on reducing my stress
Fail. Like fail to the nth degree. With us putting our house on the market, Kellen taking the assignment and just trying to keep the house looking perfect ALL THE TIME….I’m exhausted and overly stressed. Once we’re moved and settled this will be something I focus on again.
Deep clean our house
Yes! Partly because I had to for house photos and showings. But I’m glad I did it, and our house really does look amazing.
Get to bed on time
Meh. We did okay some day, but mostly we went to bed late. Going to get back on track while the hubs is gone…..I hope.
Go on walks
Right after I posted my July goals, Seattle decided to become hot as balls, and our schedule got jam packed, so we postponed our walks and will be doing our first one this Friday…finally!
Here comes August
Survive.
HAHA funny, I know. But really, between constantly picking up and cleaning for house showings (and having to keep it clean while my two year old comes behind me to destroy all my hard work), being a single parent, kids activities and getting ready for school to start….my goal is really to survive.
Get back to my work routine
I was really bad over the summer and spent more evenings not working than working. I blame the busy schedule, but really I just wasn’t feeling it. And honestly, it’s easier when Kellen is gone for me to work in the evenings.
Get A ready for first grade
I cannot believe my girl is going to be in first grade! We need to do school clothes shopping, get school supplies and move some activities around. She’s excited for first grade, and even though we don’t know if she’ll be starting the year at her current school, or the school where we’re moving, we need to at least get some things prepared.
Host 5 essential oils classes
I’m working hard on my oils business, and it’s starting to pay off. My goal is to help as many people as I can to lead a more natural lifestyle with less toxins, and I love teaching people about essential oils and other natural products. I hosted more than 5 classes in July and want to continue with 5 into August.
Tell me what one of your goals for August is!

“Hot as balls” hahahaha you kill me! You definitely had some big things happen!! Good luck with selling your house! We’ve only done it once but it can definitely be stressful! And good luck surviving without Kellen home! We’ve only had a few months that my husband and I have had to be apart since the kids have been born, and it’s always rough. You’ve got this!!
