FOOD AND DRINKS
The Mediterranean marinade is one of my favorite marinades for summer. And the Citrusy marinade is great on chicken!
It is honestly so hard not to drink more than a few glasses of this strawberry lemonade! But it doesn’t really matter since it’s low in calories. The fresh strawberries and lemon essential oil make the perfect duo in this drink.
I don’t drink a lot of margaritas because most places use a mix that is full of junk. But this margarita is low calorie and has no artificial ingredients or high fructose corn syrup!
ENJOY THE OUTDOORS
Bug Spray
This is by far my favorite summer recipe. It works like a charm and smells so much better than store bought brands. Plus you aren’t inhaling a bunch of chemicals when you spray it on.
8 oz glass spray bottle (I use these bottles)
4 oz distilled water
4 oz Witch Hazel
10 drops Peppermint EO
5 drops Thieves EO
5 drops Purification EO
5 drops Lemongrass
* If you have Citronella you can also add 5-10 drops of that as well.
I love this balm. It’s more like a buttery lotion and feels so good on your feet. If you don’t have mango butter you can substitute shea butter.
There are so many oils that I’m loving this summer. It’s taken me some time to find creative ways to use my oils but now I’m really enjoying experimenting with them. I’ve made a few creams for Little A that I plan to share in the future as well. They are working amazingly well!
What are some of your favorite summer recipes, essential oil based or not?
I am so interested in oils, but I never know what brand to go with…. especially since they are pretty expensive.
If you are interested in learning more I’d love to chat sometime Stephanie! There are some amazing oils out there and they have so many uses. That’s what I love most about them. They may seem expensive but a little goes a long way. A bottle of oil can last me 6 months to a year depending on how often I use it. Some even longer!
Feel free to reply or email me separately if you want to learn more. I love to talk about oils, haha!

I love it with grapefruit! It smells so good! Yay for summer!!!
I need to diffuse Grapefruit and Purification stat! That definitely sounds summery. I think I need to make the strawberry lemonade…the kids would love it!
Definitely do! It’s on repeat here right now.
I had no idea that you could make food and drinks with essential oils!! That’s pretty cool! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
Yes! I use them in food all the time and always use a citrus oil in my water. The margarita is awesome!
Ohhh I love all these! Especially the marinades. I always forget I can cook with my oils! What’s the difference between lemon EO and lemon vitality EO?
There is really no difference except the way it’s labeled to be FDA compliant. You can’t say that an oil can be used topically and internally so that’s why YL created the vitality oils.
oh man that strawberry lemonade looks SO good right about now. London is SO hot now… like 68F hahahaha
Lol! About the same temperature as Seattle right now.
Oh wow! Lots of great recipes here! I’m salivating. I’ve never tried consuming essential oils before – I’ve just sniffed / diffused them. lol
Thanks for sharing.
