With these essential oil recipes for summer you’ll be able to enjoy yourself and not have to worry about what you’re putting in and on your body.

Now that summer is in full effect I thought it would be fun to share some great oily summer recipes with y’all!  Summer is a great time to break out those oils and find new ways to use them.  I actually feel like I’m more creative with my oily recipes in the summertime.  I love finding new ways to use the oils.  It’s amazing all the different things they can be used for and I love experimenting with them!  Right now my favorite diffuser blend is Grapefruit and Purification.  It smells so refreshing and clean!

Whether you’ll be going on vacation, spending time at the lake or beach, or having a little staycation at home, these recipes are must haves for a fun, fabulous summer.

FOOD AND DRINKS

The Mediterranean marinade is one of my favorite marinades for summer.  And the Citrusy marinade is great on chicken!

It is honestly so hard not to drink more than a few glasses of this strawberry lemonade!  But it doesn’t really matter since it’s low in calories.  The fresh strawberries and lemon essential oil make the perfect duo in this drink.

I don’t drink a lot of margaritas because most places use a mix that is full of junk.  But this margarita is low calorie and has no artificial ingredients or high fructose corn syrup!

ENJOY THE OUTDOORS

Bug Spray
This is by far my favorite summer recipe.  It works like a charm and smells so much better than store bought brands.  Plus you aren’t inhaling a bunch of chemicals when you spray it on.

8 oz glass spray bottle (I use these bottles)
4 oz distilled water
4 oz Witch Hazel
10 drops Peppermint EO
5 drops Thieves EO
5 drops Purification EO
5 drops Lemongrass
* If you have Citronella you can also add 5-10 drops of that as well.

I love this balm.  It’s more like a buttery lotion and feels so good on your feet.  If you don’t have mango butter you can substitute shea butter.

There are so many oils that I’m loving this summer.  It’s taken me some time to find creative ways to use my oils but now I’m really enjoying experimenting with them.  I’ve made a few creams for Little A that I plan to share in the future as well.  They are working amazingly well!

What are some of your favorite summer recipes, essential oil based or not?

I am so interested in oils, but I never know what brand to go with…. especially since they are pretty expensive.

    • Tiffany says: July 6, 2016 at 3:14 pm

If you are interested in learning more I’d love to chat sometime Stephanie! There are some amazing oils out there and they have so many uses. That’s what I love most about them. They may seem expensive but a little goes a long way. A bottle of oil can last me 6 months to a year depending on how often I use it. Some even longer!
Feel free to reply or email me separately if you want to learn more. I love to talk about oils, haha!

I’ve diffused lemon and purification… I’ll have to try grapefruit. I love all things summer! Summer graphics, summer recipes, summer everything! 🙂

I need to diffuse Grapefruit and Purification stat! That definitely sounds summery. I think I need to make the strawberry lemonade…the kids would love it!

Definitely do! It’s on repeat here right now.

I had no idea that you could make food and drinks with essential oils!! That’s pretty cool! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

    • Tiffany says: July 6, 2016 at 3:16 pm

Yes! I use them in food all the time and always use a citrus oil in my water. The margarita is awesome!

Ohhh I love all these! Especially the marinades. I always forget I can cook with my oils! What’s the difference between lemon EO and lemon vitality EO?

    • Tiffany says: July 6, 2016 at 3:18 pm

There is really no difference except the way it’s labeled to be FDA compliant. You can’t say that an oil can be used topically and internally so that’s why YL created the vitality oils.

Lol! About the same temperature as Seattle right now.

Oh wow! Lots of great recipes here! I’m salivating. I’ve never tried consuming essential oils before – I’ve just sniffed / diffused them. lol

    Thanks for sharing.

  • A few weeks ago my girl worked out with me and it was amazing. 💪🏼 She wanted to lift and learn the machines and we had the best time. I love that she enjoys exercise. ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On another note, we leave Palm Springs for Seattle on Saturday and I am so looking forward to spending time with friends and family this holiday season. 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you travel for the holidays? 🎄
  • {#ad} Finding ways to stay fit in the road has been one of my missions the last 6 months. Add in kids constantly needing your attention and my workouts sometimes get cut short. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of my new favorite things to use is Jazzercise’s On Demand program! 😍 All the conveniences of fun Jazzercise classes wherever you want to be! Plus they have a variety of class durations you accommodate your busy schedule. 🙌🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Not gonna lie, Joshua Tree National Park was pretty damn awesome. Dry AF, but those trees are 😍.
  • Typical morning with these three. 🥰 Mornings are my absolute favorite time with them. My second favorite is bedtime. #justkiddingsortof ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our mornings are much slower now that we homeschool. It’s not at all easy. It’s actually harder than I imagined it would be. But I love that we can go at our own pace, take breaks during the day for adventures, and use all sorts of awesome tools for learning. We can change things when we want and I can teach to my child’s likes and abilities. I always thought I would send them back to school when our travels are over, but now I’m not so sure. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have you ever considered homeschooling, or do you? What are your thoughts on the subject?
  • Throwback to our Hawaii trip. We talked about spending a month there this winter. I wouldn’t be mad at that idea. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are you a lover of the heat or colder weather? I usually prefer the colder temps, because they mean snow. But we have spent a lot of time in the mountains so I’m soaking up all the time we’re getting in Palm Springs.
  • My body has been greatly confused by the 90 degrees in November weather. 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This guy y’all. 🥰 He is spicy and has a newfound obsession with Star Wars. He is snuggly for an hour in the morning, and independent the rest of the day. I never knew a child could be as busy as he is. He’s definitely testing boundaries these days, but when he does something wrong he says “I’m sorry” in the sweetest voice and damn it is hard to stay mad at that. ❤️
  • I almost wasn’t going to post this photo for 2 reasons.
1️⃣ Because it’s not a great picture.
2️⃣ Because you can see my cellulite when you zoom in. But I decided to share for that exact reason. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We all struggle with insecurities. Even at the best shape of my life I still had things that bothered me about my body. But y’all, these insecurities do not define us! They don’t make us any less of a wife, mom, sister, daughter, or friend. People love you because you are kind and loving and funny and a good person! No one gives a shit about the cellulite on your thighs except you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We need to stop defining our worth based on how we look. We are all different and those differences make this world such an amazing and unique place.
  • “You’ve been really absent lately. Why aren’t you posting more?”
Because of these two. Need I say more? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I will say more. 🤣 #canthelpmyself ❤️
Anyone who tries to make you feel bad for being present with your kids at this young age is not someone who needs to be in your life. We are on this travel journey to not only see the world, but to spend time together while we still can. And yes I 100% understand I made this decision knowing full well that I would be spending 24 hours a day, every day with my kids. Is it always easy? Hell no! But it is absolutely worth it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
LIFE 👏🏼 IS 👏🏼SHORT! 👏🏼 I know more than most how short it can be. So while I may be able to find a few moments here and there to comment and like, I’m also busy making memories that I will cherish till the end of my days. ❤️ And that is something more valuable than posting every day to a social media platform. #sorrynotsorry😂
