Happy Valentine’s Day y’all! We are up at our winter cabin this weekend, spending some time with family and friends, sledding, playing games. It’s going to be a great time.
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but when I look cute going to the gym or out for a run, I feel better and seem to be more motivated. Not only do I want to look cute, but I want to be comfortable.
Cute and comfortable. It’s the perfect combination if you ask me. I love to start a new season with some new gear for hitting the gym (no, I don’t buy new gear constantly. But if Huebie would let me I definitely would!). And the stores have really delivered this season.
Athleta is my favorite place to shop for active wear. And I’m loving all of their new spring arrivals! I’m totally in love with the hoodie above. I love how it has the built in collar as well as a hood. Perfect for cool mornings. Or let’s be honest here, I’d probably wear it every day just because it’s that comfortable.
And I was surprised by how much I like the striped capris! I’m usually a pretty Plane Jane when it comes to my shorts/capris/pants, but I really like the stripes. Something different ya know?
And since we all love Nordstrom (free shipping, free returns, how can you not?!) I had to check out what they have new for spring. Really liking the Nike tank. The colors are fun and Nike is such a tried and true brand. Their clothes really hold up.
I’ve had a pair of Zella capris for probably 3+ years and I love them. They have held up so well after hundreds of washes. The new Live In capri leggings look fun. I love the new colors for spring.
And we of course must talk about shoes. I usually get a new pair of gym shoes once a year or so, and new running shoes once or twice a year, depending on how many miles I’ve put on.
My tried and true gym shoes are Nike Frees. They are a minimal running shoe but are perfect for the gym. I also love my New Balance Minimus shoes for lifting as well.
I’m a Mizuno girl for running shoes and the new Wave Rider 17s came out earlier this year. White shoes are really making a come back.
I haven’t tried these Nike’s, but I’ve had a similar pair in the past and really liked them.
ASICS are super popular for running. They have a great selection and some cool training shoes that would be perfect for the gym. You can check out the full selection of ASICS here.
Now it’s your turn. Anyone picked up any new active wear lately? What’s your favorite brand?
Any big plans for the weekend?
Have a fabulous weekend!
I’m going to have to invest in some new running gear this spring. I love the items you have in your post. Have fun shopping!
I’m planning on that as well Dawn. I need to go through and purge some of my really old stuff first. Then the hubby will hopefully see that I need some new gear 🙂
