Tiff’s Favorites: Desserts

August 21, 2013

I showed you some of my favorite Workout Gear last week, so it only makes sense to talk about my favorite desserts this week right?!  I’m a dessert foodie.  I could eat cookies for breakfast (which I did on Saturday, bad mama!), one or two at lunch and another at dinner.  I love me some dessert (hence why I spend so much time at the gym.  Mama’s gotta keep this belly and booty in check).  I don’t know many folks who don’t like dessert.  That just seems so abnormal to me.

I used to have a sweatshirt as a kid that said “Eat Dessert First.”  It was my motto.

Here are a few of my very favorite sweet treats.

Pumpkin Cheesecake

It’s 2 of my favorite things combined into 1 glorious, mouthwatering treat.  Cheesecake used to be my favorite dessert as a kid.  And I’ll eat anything that has pumpking in it.  It’s a win win all around.

I have a super easy pumpkin cake recipe I’m going to make this Fall, but in the meantime here are a few other fabulous pumpkin recipes.

Pumpkin Toffee Blondies

Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting

My Dad and I used to bake all the time when I was young.  He’s the one who gave me the bug.  We always made snickerdoodles and no bake cookies.

These No Bake Cookies are close to Dad & mine’s recipe.

I posted about these fabulous Chocolate Chip Cookies on the first installment of Tiff’s Favorites.

They are still my most favorite chocolate chip cookie.  Soft, fluffy, chocolatey.  MMMM, so good.

Now, my ALL TIME favorite dessert:

Red Velvet Cake

I’m a Southern girl at heart and fell in love with red velvet cake before it became a choice dessert.  I have a pretty darn good recipe I’ll make soon and post as well, but the above recipe looks really good too.

I’ve been dying to try these Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies for months now.  Red velvet AND cheesecake?  Sign me up!

Whoopie Pies?  Yes please!  I love all things filled (including donuts and oreos, and now whoopie pies).

And that’s it!  I really am a simple gal when it comes to dessert.  I like quick, easy, family pleasing recipes.  Ain’t nobody got time to spend all day in the kitchen slaving away on some brownies or a cake (unless you’re a baker of course).
