April Goals

March 30, 2016

April goals: Setting monthly goals to help me stay accountable.

I started setting monthly goals again last month.  And I set a lot of goals for myself in March.  It was a busy month but we got a lot accomplished.  I think each month I’ll do a little recap to see how I did on the previous month’s goals then share what goals I’ve set for the current month.

So for March…

Finish nursery: This is just about done.  We haven’t decided on art for the walls yet.  The print I wanted for this particular wall wasn’t going to work, so we’re putting a shelf there and doing some sort of gallery as well; we just can’t decide what we want it to look like.  And we’re still waiting on the glider to deliver, so hopefully I’ll be able to do a nursery reveal soon.

Wash baby clothes: Done!  I got all his newborn-3 month clothes washed and put away.  I love opening his drawers and seeing all the tiny baby clothes in there.

Write thank you cards: Done!  I got all our thank you cards out and even the hubs wrote some for his co-workers who threw us a little shower.

Keep house organized: Check!  This one has been pretty easy for us since we simplified our lives and purged half of our possessions.  It feels so good to always have a clean and organized home.  We keep commenting that our house just feels so light and airy now.

Finish planned posts: Mostly done.  I planned out my calendar through April and have quite a few posts either complete or almost done.  This is the most organized and ahead of the game I’ve ever been with my blogging schedule, so I’m pretty proud of myself.  I’ll probably go down to posting 2 times a week (not including the blog hop), and every now and then do 3 days a week, but 2 seems doable for right now.

Freezer Meals: Fail.  I just haven’t been motivated to do any freezer meals.  Plus the hubs and I started back into our clean eating diets again so we make most of our food on Sunday’s for the week and it’s been working out pretty well.  But my mom let me know she wouldn’t let us starve so I’m sure she has a few meals planned for us.  ðŸ™‚

Pack hospital bag: Check!  I had this done by 37 weeks since I thought baby was coming early.  Ha!  He sure tricked us!

Get special gift for Little A: Check!  We got her something she saw a friend have a few months ago and has been on her mind ever since.

Date night with K: Fail.  With my on and off contractions I was so afraid to get too far from home and have my water break, or go into labor.  But since he’s been working from home since mid-March he’s been able to sleep in, so we’ve had some nice evenings together.  So I guess you could say we had date nights in.

Now for April’s goals.

Get used to having a newborn in the house again and being a mom of 2.  Those are my only goals for the month.  If I get some time to blog as well that would be great, but I mainly want to focus on baby and my family and get used to being a family of 4.  I know it’s going to be a huge adjustment for us, especially Little A, so I want to make sure I dedicate a lot of time to her.  I want to have girls’ time with her each week; making sure she doesn’t feel like she’s less important than baby now.  I know balancing her feelings and emotions is going to be hard at first, but I think once baby is around for a bit she’ll get used to it.

I’m also hoping the weather shapes up a bit so we can spend a lot of time outside going on family walks and to the park.  K will be on leave for 3 weeks and I want to take full advantage of that time with him.

What goals do you have for April?

Have a great day love bugs!

It sounds like the nursery is coming along so well- I can’t wait for the reveal once everything is in. I’m glad you and K have been able to spend some time together at home even if you didn’t make it out for a date night.

Just like you, I didn’t have any freezer meals made for baby 2 and it wasn’t a big deal at all! Granted – my mom was here and cooking for us every night. So that was an enormous help! And 2 posts a week is really all I can handle with 2 kids. Don’t worry, it’s more important to keep blogging fun and manageable than to stress yourself out about it! Can’t wait to see pics of this little baby 🙂

I knew you would do great with your goals! Yay for accomplishing goals! And for setting goals, too! I hope that you adjust well and that he is a good baby for you! Can’t wait to see pictures and hear all about him!!

I love how you do monthly goals! I am working on my April goals. I love your #1 goal for this month! You concentrate all your energy on your two little loves! My goal for April is to return to blogging regularly (M, W, F) and get ahead of my writing schedule. I usually write last minute and it doesn’t help anyone!
