Five on Friday: Oh my random life

May 16, 2014

I hope everyone had a fabulous week!  We’ve had 80+ degree weather so it’s been glorious!  Of course the rain is coming back just in time for the weekend in true Seattle fashion.

As usual, some random things for you this lovely Friday.

{ONE}

Got my new HGTV Magazine in the mail the other day!

Of course y’all know it’s been read cover to cover twice by now.  I love this issue!  So many fun ways to use paint in your home.  I’m always a little scared to paint furniture, but it usually turns out pretty well.

{TWO}

And I also found this amazing woman’s Etsy shop courtesy of this month’s HGTV Magazine.  She does custom watercolors of your home!  How cool is that?!  I’ve seen this type of thing on another blogger’s website before, but wasn’t sure where they got it.  Michelle’s work is amazing.  A custom watercolor of our first home would make an amazing keepsake for us, especially if we’ll be moving next year.

{three}

I’ve been wanting a cross body purse since Little A stopped wearing diapers (about 8 months now).  Of course the one I really want (this Marc Jacobs bag) is a little more than the hubby would like me to spend on a purse. So I’ve been looking for some more inexpensive options.  I saw this mint beauty the other day at Target and I sort of dig it.  It’s big enough for me to carry some stuff for baby girl in it so that is a big plus for me, but it has a strap and can be worn as a cross body.  The shape may deter me a bit; I’d prefer a cross body that would lie more flat.  But for the price it’s not too bad.  The hubby still thinks I should just carry one of the purses I have, that are probably 8-10 years old and drive me crazy (you can’t keep them on my shoulder when you’re trying to hold a toddler!  Let him try and see how easy it is!)
{four}
We celebrated 4 years last week.  And even though he doesn’t want me to get a new purse (see, that one in the photo!  He wants me to just carry that all the time!  It doesn’t stay on my darn shoulder!) I still love him and am so happy he comes home from yet another business trip today.

I’m guest posting today over at Reign Fitness & Performance!  I’ve known Nemesia and Albert for a long time so it was great to be able to collaborate with them.  Watch out next week for a guest post here from them.  Head over to their blog and check out my yummy recipe, and while you’re there read some of their other posts on healthy living, getting out of a fitness rut and of course some awesome workouts!

Linking up for the first time at Five on Friday!

I hope y’all have a fabulous weekend!  We’ll probably be at the pool with our water baby, or some other indoor complex.  Hope you have nice weather where you’re at!

    Hello from the link up! Hooray for glorious weather!! Happy 4th Anniversary!! Have a fabulous weekend!

    Yay!! 5 on Friday! 🙂 You’ll have to let me know if you do some of the stuff you see in your HGTV magazine. You know I’m always needing ideas!

    I actually like that Target purse 🙂 I kind of want one now. I’ve been boring and have been using the same brown purse every day. I need to use my other purses but they’re in the other room (since I got married) and it seems inconvenient to go get one out of there. :-p Haha. Sounds lazy, I know!

    Yay for 4 years! Y’all just seem so great together. I can’t wait to be celebrating our 4th…many years away! 🙂

    I love that watercolor! I think that would make lovely gifts for family, too!
    That’s a great mint colored bag, too! My husband and I were walking back from our neighborhood pool yesterday and he said he would offer to carry my bag, if it wasn’t pink. So, you could just get your husband to hold your black one for you… or tell him you need a mint one that you can carry yourself!

    I read my issue of HGTV last night and tore out a few things I really liked too. I love that magazine. I always carry a small cross body bag in the summer with a just a few essentials. I don’t have to carry stuff for my kids anymore though. Nice. Have a great weekend and happy anniversary!

      It is probably my all time favorite magazine. So many great ideas in there!
      I’ve been carrying A’s diaper bag still with just my wallet because I hate carrying that darn purse! Oh the days when she won’t need anything when we go places. Seems so far away. 🙂
      Have a great weekend Dawn!

    The watercolor is way cool! I might have to copy you and get one done too. A fun way to remember a home after you move 🙂

    • Tiffany {A Touch of Grace} says: May 16, 2014 at 3:08 pm

      You should! Your house looks so awesome now it’d be ashamed not to capture it in watercolor don’t you think? 🙂

      Thanks! I looked and she’s booking 5-6 mo out so I could plan ahead for a VDay gift or something 🙂

    Oh my gosh I’m literally jumping up and down since you introduced the custom watercolor- I want one so badly once our house is finished so I’m def saving this for future reference! What a great gift too! (ps adore HGTV EVERYTHING!) Happy weekend! xoxo

    5 on Friday hello! I love the watercolor idea! I have been wanting to that same thing with each of our homes (we’ve moved A LOT) and then hang them all side by side in our forever house with numbers beneath! Happy 4 years, doll!!

    • Tiffany {A Touch of Grace} says: May 16, 2014 at 7:52 pm

      Isn’t it a great idea?! That’s exactly what I want to do as well! I think it would be so much fun to have that history displayed in such a unique way.
      Have a great weekend Bekah!

    I was browsing that HGTV magazine in the store and definitely took note of those amazing etsy shops that do the illustrations of houses! Such a great idea– I think I’m going to use one of them for Christmas gifts later this year! I love the color of that handbag and congratulations on four years! I hope you have a great weekend!
