March Goals

March 8, 2018

Woohoo!  I am so ready to spring forward and have more daylight!  Thank you Jesus!

How is your year going so far?  For me, it’s been alright.  At first it felt like days were passing so slowly, but now that it’s March it feels like it’s flying by.  We’ve fallen back into a good routine with school and activities for the kids, my gym schedule and Kellen once again traveling (insert major eye roll here).

I’ll admit, February wasn’t the best month.  Not until the last week was I feeling motivated to blog and get up early for my quiet time.  But the last few weeks have been good and I’m feeling inspired again.  It always takes me a few months into the new year to feel rejuvenated again.

Here’s what happened in February.

Host two essential oils classes
Success!  I taught two classes and it was really fun.  The virtual format I’ve been doing seems to work well for people all over to join, so if you’re ever interested in joining one of my classes just shoot me an email or comment.  I would love to add you to the invite.

Go for at least one hike
Fail.  But mainly because February was FREEZING here!  Like it didn’t get out of the 30s a lot of the time.  So yeah no, as much as I love hiking, my kids don’t like hiking in the freezing cold and I don’t like hearing them complain; so we didn’t get out on a hike.

Go to the gym 4 days a week
Booya (is that how you spell it?)!  My new workout routine is kicking butt and I am LOVING the results!  I am only 30 pounds away from my end of year bench goal, and I see myself getting stronger each week.  Now that the weather is warming up a bit I’m adding in more outdoor cardio on my non-lifting days (only once or twice a week) and it feels good to be running again.

Try a new keto recipe
I’d say that was a success, if you saw my last two posts.  🙂  Both were keto friendly recipes and those keto stuffed bell peppers are to die for.  Seriously, even if you don’t eat keto you will love them!

Get 50% of the way through a blogging course
Gah yes!  I cannot believe I accomplished this one but I did!  I love to learn, and blogging courses are really fun, so I’m hoping to devote more time to them in March.

Now onto my March goals!

Go on a dang hike!
Seriously though, if we don’t go on a hike this month I may lose my mind.  We live 10 minutes from a trail system that is so easy to get to.  We really have no more excuses now that the weather is looking better.  Well that and our busy weekend schedules but we will make it happen!

Get to 10k followers on Instagram
I’m gonna put it out there that I finally want to get to over 10,000 followers.  Growing has been a slow process for me.  But I’m finally gaining some momentum, so I’m setting a target for the end of the month of 10k.  Fingers crossed!

Have my parents over for dinner
My parents have been working on a house remodel for months, and it’s been super stressful on them.  We’ve been down to help a few times, but they haven’t been up to visit as much as usual.  They have been without a kitchen for a while, but have been so busy with workers at the house that they haven’t been able to come over, so I want to make sure we have them over for dinner at least once.

Celebrate birthdays!
Both Kellen and EJ have birthdays this month!  Kellen is a St. Patty’s Day baby and EJ’s is at the end of the month.  We aren’t doing anything big for his birthday this year (I’m really over throwing big parties for a while), but I still want to make sure we celebrate them both.

That’s all I have on tap for March.  I’ve grown to understand my limitations better, so my goals have followed suite, and are more in line with my lifestyle (less work, more family time).

What is one goal you have for March?

You want to lose 30 pounds?! Where will it all come from?! And get it with the IG followers. I just seem to hover at a high 19.9 to low 20k and I’m sick of trying to grow it. I gain followers when I post consistently and lose them over the weekend when I peace out. I’d rather spend time with my family! Whatever Instagram.

More daylight and many birthdays are some of the best things about March.. I have set multiple goals for this month. I will particularly focus more on health and go to the gym at least five days a week.

What blogging course are you taking? Looking forward to warmer weather to do more outdoor activities.

Just stumbled across your blog as I was looking for other moms in the same health fitness wellness niche. Great content! I’m struggling bad with growing my IG following and it’s driving me batty. I’m so close to just saying F it. I’m also super close to downing some wine. Would love if you checked out my site!
