Our Chelan Vacation

July 7, 2014

Happy Monday friends!  How was everyone’s 4th of July?!  Did you celebrate all week or weekend like we did?

Sorry for the late post today, but I had a lot of photos to go through (and edit) from our vacation.  We had an amazing 8 days, but it’s nice to be back home and in our own beds.  Although I’m not thrilled with having to go back to work.  🙁

If you follow me on Instagram (@tiffanyatouchofgrace), you saw some of the fun we had last week, but wanted to share with you some of the highlights.

When we go to Chelan for a week it’s usually a Sunday-Sunday.  But Huebie got a wild hair and we decided to go Saturday-Sunday.  It was only one more day, but it made the whole trip feel much longer.

I have lots of photos to share so I’ll keep the words to a minimum.  🙂

We hit the pool first thing when we arrived on Saturday afternoon.

Little A had a blast in the pool all week.  She is quite the water baby.  By the end of the trip she wasn’t afraid to swim out on her own a bit.  Time to get her back into swim lessons!

Saturday night there was a bonfire down by the lake, where we roasted s’mores.

Such a fun little community.  They have activities scheduled throughout the week, from face painting to arts and crafts.  You can also rent bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, and even golf carts!

We played a little putt putt on Sunday.  She looks focused here, but she was more interested in the other kids than hitting the ball.

Boat day on Monday!

Little A and D on the boat.  The kids love hanging out on the boat.  Which is great because we like to spend a lot of time out on the water.

Morning is the best time to get out on the water because it’s so calm, but evening runs are fun too.  Love boarding with the sun going down.

Little A and P are about 4 months apart and such little buddies.  How cute are they walking down to our friend’s condo?!

Her first time on a merry-go-round.  She loved it, but only going slow.

Love that sweet face of hers!

We spent lots of time at the beach on this trip.

Poor thing got sun burnt behind her knees.  Mama missed that area with the sunscreen.  🙁

Sand castles in the sand.  (Name that TV show.)

The only time we usually go out to eat while we’re in Chelan is for breakfast.  Blueberry Hills has the most amazing breakfast.  We try to go twice when we visit for a week, but only made it once this trip.

RELATED  Why we decided to travel full time

Worth every calorie!

You sit right above the blueberry fields.  It’s an amazing view.

Then we got to go out and pick some blueberries!  6 pounds to be exact!  Little A kept picking the green ones.  No matter how many times we said not to…..

We did some wine tasting on Wednesday.

Our favorite winery, Tsillan Cellars, has the best view of the lake.  Love it there!

And the kids do too.  They have lots of seating so the kids can play their games while the parents taste some wine.

And Karma, another favorite, has a great Koi pond.  You can walk right up to it and the kids love it.

Little A couldn’t get enough of the fish.

Our friends the Simpsons came Thursday evening for a few days.

Little A was so excited to hold Baby J.  He is such a good baby and didn’t even fuss when all the kids took turns holding him.

And they were floaty buddies together.

We did some more wine tasting on the 4th.

Little A discovered the Koi pond at Tsillan as well.  They gave her some food to feed the fish.  She was in heaven.

Love those two!

We watched the fireworks on the 4th from the boat at the dock.

I don’t have a tripod for my camera so I didn’t get that great of photos, but the show was awesome.  Right over the water.

Saturday morning I ran 7 miles from Manson (where our condo is) into the town of Chelan.  The road is right on the water and the view is amazing.  It was perfect and overcast, but by the time I got about 2 miles from town the sun was out and I was dying.  Huebie picked me up at the end of my run.

We let the kids play at the indoor pool for a bit late Saturday morning, then spent the afternoon at the beach and just hung out at the condo and let the kids play at the park.  Perfect way to end our vacation.

And we left early Sunday to beat the holiday traffic.

We of course had to stop at one of our favorite burger places, Rusty’s.  This was Little A’s first Rusty burger!  It was as big as her head!  (She only ate about half, but loved it!)

And that about sums up our week in Chelan!  I’m back at work today, but so far it’s not so bad.  It’s nice to get our routine back, but hard to come back to the daily grind.

I hope everyone’s Monday is off to a great start!

What a great week, Tiffany! Sounds like such a fun and relaxing vacation. I’m dying to go to that part of the country someday.

Little A is just so cute…I love her face when she’s holding a baby. And her sunglasses are adorable. Love that photo of you and her looking at the fish. 🙂

Wine tasting sounds like fun!! Just had my last glass for a while.

LOVE the photo of you three. I know those are hard to get because you’re usually taking the picture! Y’all are such a good looking family. Your skirt is cute and looks comfy. And I love the sunglasses. I have some that are similar that I LOVE. They’re getting scratched though which makes me sad…I just keep wearing them. Glad you posted about the trip!
