What’s Up Wednesday

September 30, 2015

First off, if you missed yesterday’s post make sure you go read it.  I posted a bit late but don’t want you to miss the all natural goodness!

Yes!  We’re half way through the week!  Here’s the deal.  This week has been HARD.  Like yesterday about did me in folks.  I seriously almost threw in the towel.  So needless to say my previously scheduled posts have not been finished and will be delayed by a week or so.

But!  I still wanted to share something with y’all, so I thought I’d share my first What’s Up Wednesday post!

What we’re eating this week…
When K goes out of town, Little A and I eat very simply.  We don’t need much.  So we’re eating chicken salad sandwiches, mac and cheese (for baby girl) and some pasta.  Her and I are easy to please.

What I’m reminiscing about…
I’m thinking about when Little A was 2, and how great 2 was.  I’ve said it before, but 3 has been the hardest year yet.  To me even harder than her infancy when she was super fussy.  She turns 4 next week (4!  I can’t believe it!) and I’m praying that things will start to turn around for her.

What I’m loving…

Cuddle time with my girl.  As hard as things have been lately, we still have daily cuddle time.  And it’s the best.  This girl can cuddle like nobody’s business and it just melts me every time.  I love her to pieces.

What we’ve been up to…
Enjoying the cooler weather!  I wish I had photos to share, but Little A and I have been going on walks around the block and collecting fallen leaves for some fall projects.  She loves finding all different kinds of leaves.

What I’m dreading…
Really nothing right now.  That’s a good thing right?

What I’m working on…
My patience.  A testy 3 year old can be trying on your patience.  I’m praying that God can just give me enough patience to last until the weekend when the hubs gets back.

What I’m excited about…
Little A turning 4!  I cannot believe next week I’ll have a 4 year old.  We’re just doing a small family party this year, but I’m really looking forward to celebrating her.

What I’m watching/reading…I just started watching House of Cards last week and I’m addicted.  I love me some Kevin Spacey and am really enjoying his character in this show.  I’m also excited for the fall shows to be back.  Not that I have a lot of time to watch TV, but I like to keep our DVR full so we can watch shows periodically throughout the year.

I’m also reading Maybe in Another Life, by Taylor Jenkins Reid (my first pleasure book in almost a year).  So far I’m enjoying it and hope the end doesn’t leave me wishing for more.

What I’m listening to…
Really not much.  The only time I listen to music is in the car these days.  Oh wait!  I guess I’m listening to my alternative endurance training mix on Pandora when I workout.

What I’m wearing…
Lots of plaid.  Plaid is my jam for fall.  Plaid tops and scarves.  I really like this top and it’s a great price.

Or any one of these scarves from Friday’s post.

What I’m doing this weekend…
Relaxing.  It’s supposed to be around 70 this weekend so we’ll probably do a bit of yard work that’s overdue and some shopping for Little A’s birthday.  Getting wild and crazy over here!

What I’m looking forward to next month…
Lots of things!  October is a great month.  Little A’s birthday, pumpkin patches, even cooler weather and Halloween.  I really enjoy October.

What else is new…
Oh goodness.  Just working on our routine at home.  I’d actually like to solicit some advice.  Little A has become more attached to me since I started staying home with her full time.  She has always been a mama’s girl, but it’s like she wants to crawl back into my womb she’s become so attached!  She doesn’t want to be without me for one second, so getting her to go to school and dance is a struggle.  Any ideas y’all have I’m open.  I’m sure it will eventually get better, but after a month and a half it’s really wearing on me.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable day!

Motherhood is survival at it’s finest. ๐Ÿ˜‰ What works for one kid may not work for another. Even with my kids being older, they still go though stages where I can’t wait for us to turn the corner into something easier. Also… 4 seems like it’s the age where they start to become a bit more independent. You’re almost there!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Scarlett is pretty attached to me also, I think it’s just a personality thing… I don’t push her, unless I know she’s going to have fun (like if it’s an activity she was previously enjoying without me). I have yet to put her in independent activities because I feel like she’s going to melt down when I drop her off lol but I’m hoping this winter to put her in dance and swimming independently.

I love all of those scarves, I love plaid in the fall, it’s the best ๐Ÿ™‚

I also feel you on the 3 year olds… Scarlett has been getting more and more attitude these past few weeks and I fear we are entering the “threenager” stage!

    Loved this update my friend.

I’m sorry to hear things have been so rough lately. I hear you though… your Little A sounds like my Little H. H turned 4 in July and it didn’t miraculously get better but I see her attitude improving little by little. This parenting gig is tough work!

I like plaid too, although I don’t wear it that well.

Thanks for sharing. I hope you get that relaxing weekend you deserve!
    xoxo

When my husband is out of town I eat much simpler as well. Usually it’s not nearly as healthy, but it’s easy!

Stopping by from the linkup, new follower.

Isn’t funny how us ladies can survive on so much less than our husbands, haha! ๐Ÿ™‚

I so wanted to do this post too…didn’t end up with enough time. I’m wearing plaid today ๐Ÿ™‚ I definitely need more though….I don’t have much. I’m going to start being more strict about no bread so chicken salad sandwiches already sound delicious to me. That starts next Monday though!

I can’t get into House of Cards! I’ve watched the first 20 minutes of the first episode at least four times haha! I would be pretty happy with mac and cheese and chicken salad sandwiches too. Meals don’t have to be complicated ๐Ÿ™‚
