Thank you all so much for your sweet comments on Monday’s post. Seems like most of us ladies are on the same page with how we think women should be treated and how we want to raise our children.
Since I completed my #graceeveryday series last year, I haven’t shared many, or any, life updates. So I thought it was about time. Honestly, our lives are pretty boring. Very busy, but rather boring. But it’s a life I love.
The biggest thing that has happened lately is Little A got baptized! A lot has happened in our lives over the last 3 years, so we were a bit delayed in her baptism. She was so excited to get baptized (or bathtized in her words) and that made me so glad that we finally made the decision to do it. Sam and Michael are her God parents. Sam is her nanny and loves Little A so very much. I couldn’t ask for better people to guide her in this new life with God.
The other big thing that changed is Little A now goes to gymnastics on her own! She’s been in a parent/child class since she was 6 months old and a few weeks ago she transitioned to a big kids class. She was so nervous and had a few tears in the car before we went in, but once she was in the class there was no looking back. She’s really enjoying her new teacher and having some independent time on her own.
Lots of attitude still happening. No surprise there.
And lots of baking. She has been asking to bake more and more lately. And how can you say no to that sweet face.
Now that I’m in trial mode for all my muffin recipes we’re doing some hard core baking. She is such a good helper. “How can I help Mama? What’s next Mama?” Soooo sweet! And those cheeks! I could kiss those cheeks all day every day.
I’ve also been writing in my 5 Minute Journal every day. Huebie’s BFF got us both these journals and I love it. Focusing on the positive, and committing to write every morning and evening, about 5 minutes a day total, has really been great for me. If you don’t have one I highly recommend it!
The weather has been unseasonably warm here in Seattle. Actually, in all of Washington state it’s been warm. Since we can’t ski we’ve been going on more runs. And Little A has been practicing her wink.
We’ve also been getting some hiking in with the warm winter. We did a 4 mile hike on Sunday and Little A made it about 3 miles on her own. She’s definitely her father’s daughter with her love for hiking (I love it too, but Huebie is hard core). Maybe he’ll take her on an overnight hike some time. Because Lord knows I’ll never do it.
After Little A’s baptism a few weeks ago we went to breakfast with her God parents and Huebie ordered a blood Mary. And this behemoth came out. For $7.95 this was the best bloody Mary I’d ever seen. And really good too! Everything is better with bacon after all.
Little A has also been enjoying helping daddy out. She really enjoys washing the cars. Mostly because she gets to play in the bubbles, but she actually does a pretty good job washing. Better her than me!
We also found the best chocolate EVER. Actually Huebie found it for me and it’s a-mazing. Mo’s Dark Bar is awesome (I mean hello bacon!), but the Black Salt Caramel is ridiculous. I love salted caramel and this is just so good. Ugh, my mouth is watering just typing this. Do yourself a favor and don’t give up chocolate for lent. Then go get yourself a bar.
Recently, most of my time has been spent on my Young Living business and sharing the awesome benefits of essential oils and other essential oil based products. I’m hosting a class this weekend so getting prepared for that takes some time. But I love it!
If you haven’t followed me on Twitter yet I’d love for you to join me! You can find me HERE.
I always want to make sure you all know how much I appreciate my readers. I’ve been so busy with my corporate career, growing my Young Living business, taking care of Little A and our sled business (let alone trying to keep the house up), that I’ve definitely been neglecting this space and the blogging world in general. So thank you all so much for continuing to read and love on A Touch of Grace. Hopefully things will slow down once winter is over and I’ll be able to get back to my usual blogging self.
Happy hump day love bugs!
You’re on busy lady!
I’ve been missing your weekly updates, so I absolutely loved reading this post. I love how Little A is such a baker. Makes my heart swell.
Yay for the little one getting “bathized” haha! Our lives over here are busy but boring, too. Love your little family!
Little A looks like she’s in such a fun age! I can’t wait for Henry to get old enough to do fun things and play whatever sport he’s interested in (I’m hoping for baseball/t-ball). I really didn’t like the newborn stage, but he just turned 9 months and everyday gets more fun as his personality comes out! Love that pic of lil A with her tongue!
We also haven’t yet baptized Henry because we haven’t found a church in Dallas we love yet. Thanks for making me like I’m not a bad mom and not the only one who will delay her kids baptism!
Girl!!! I have wanted one of those journals for a long time now! Glad you are loving it. SO awesome that your sweet pea got baptized! What a special day to remember!
Get yourself one! I really do like it. Even though it’s the same questions every day, it really makes you think on your life.
I love all of this! I love that Little A says “bathtized” 🙂 So cute. And that photo with Sam and her hubby looks great! Love the attitude photo in the car seat too. I’ve never heard of the 5 Minute Journal but that’s a good idea. Does it have any prompts or is it just blank paper? Jealous of all the hiking! If we don’t have to get my car this weekend, I want to go on a hike.
I need some of that chocolate! I have some right now that has cherry bits in it which I don’t love but it’s still great when I need a little bit of sweet. Good luck with your oils class!!! 🙂
I love what a huge helper she is and wants to be involved with things!! I’m sure baking is so fun!! xo, Biana – BlovedBoston
I can’t get over these adorable pictures! Seems like you all have been up to a lot of fun 🙂
I love how much she likes to help you bake– and the picture of her helping to wash the car is so cute! I’m just a tad bit jealous of your warm weather 🙂
There is seriously nothing boring at all about any of these updates! I loved reading everything! I need that chocolate, cannot wait for Isla to do gymnastics and love that she enjoys baking! So sweet. xoxo
That picture of Little A sticking out her tongue cracks me up! And she’s such a cute little baker! 🙂
She has so much attitude that’s for sure. 🙂
There’s so much goodness in this post! Little A getting baptized (my son says it the same way!), bacon, chocolate, hikes, car washing, more bacon, a journal and Young Living. Love it all!
What Jen said, so much goodness in this post! Your life is more exciting than mine! I think that’s so cool that you’ve had Little A in gymnastics since she was a baby! I haven’t had my boys in ANYTHING, ugh bad mom alert. I don’t enjoy hiking but if I lived in Washington I think I definitely would! Walking through dirt and dust down here in the desert just isn’t that great lol. I also loooove your 5 min journal, it makes such a difference for me to when I journal a little every day. I hope you’re able to take at least a little bit of time for yourself, you sound so super busy. I hope you guys have a great weekend! #TGIF
You have been one busy lady! I hope your class goes well. 🙂 Our first assignment at our leadership class is to do 3 home classes by Easter. I need to get working on the rest of my homework today. I need to do a 3-5 min. presentation on Essentialzyme tomorrow night and I’ve barely been home this week to work on it!
As usual, great photos! I too, love to capture the precious memories and moments of life with the special people in my life. People make fun of me for always taking photos of everything and everyone and even selfies, but I don’t care. I do it anyway and everyone always ends up enjoying the pics later on. Also, they become even more precious later on and I want my son to have special memories to enjoy as he looks back on them. I enjoy your photos. It’s funny about the chocolate pic, because I am watching the movie CHOCOLAT as I drink my coffee and as I type to you now, sooo I am craving chocolate for sure! I put chocolate in my coffee every day. Yum!! …And I want to go hiking. I love hiking!!!!! 🙂
