I’m jumping on the bandwagon and sharing what we have on our summer bucket list this year! Our summers are always jam packed with activities from birthday parties to evening wakeboarding sessions, but there are a few things I really want us to focus on doing this summer.
Hiking // Hiking is a huge part of our life and some of our favorite hikes are more doable in the summer (due to mountain snow). I want us to take advantage of the cool mornings and evenings and go on at least 2 hikes a month.
BBQs // We honestly haven’t ever been the best at breaking out the barbecue as much as I’d like. We’re changing that this year. I want us to barbecue once a week. Give me burgers, give me steak, give me brats (all with a side of veggies of course). Whatever it is I want to be eating outside inhaling the propane fumes.
Farmer’s Markets // The Seattle area has some awesome summer farmer’s markets. Almost every day of the week you can find a farmer’s market happening. I would like to check out a few different market’s this summer and enjoy all that the local economy has to offer.
Weekend in Chelan // Lake Chelan is like our second home. We love spending as much time there as possible. The summers at the lake are amazing so I’m hopeful that we’ll make at least one weekend trip over this year.
Evening walks // We started doing this last year, but haven’t faithfully kept up with it. So this summer I want us to do more after dinner family walks. Little A is doing great at riding her balance bike, so it’s the perfect time for us to get out in the evening as a family and enjoy each other’s company.

And that’s it! Like I said, our summers are already so busy that I don’t want to set expectations for us to go, go, go and try to pack in 100 different activities. I just want us to enjoy this time of the year, preferably outdoors as much as possible. 🙂
Hijack alert! This is Huebie, and I have taken over Tiff’s computer. One item I would personally like to add to our bucket list is: Come Hell or High-Water (Bible References I believe), we will get the %*#&$*#&@ stump out of our back yard! APPARENTLY, after 9023672346834 swings of the axe and shoveling literally megatons of dirt, Super-Tree McBranchFace is still stuck in Mother Earth. But, thanks to the power of internal combustion and clutchy-geary-chain-ish things, I shall win. This summer. At some point. Boom.
Happy Wednesday love bugs!
Yes to all of these but especially evening walks!! it’s my favorite thing to do after work!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
Ha! Huebie’s addition was hilarious!
I love that your husband hijacked your computer!
We LOVE hiking too! Love your list!
He is such a goofball! Hiking is probably top 2 favorite family activities to do together. There’s just so much to see around here!
Haha! Well, now I feel you need to give periodical updates about said stump! Ha! Sounds rather entertaining! 🙂 If your bucket list is any indication of how your summer is going to go… it sounds perfect!
Hi Tiffany, what a wonderful sounding summer bucket list! Summer is for nice evening strolls and barbecues. I hope you manage to stick with your plans.
We always do a summer bucket list and I have such fun doing them up with the girls. Even though we may not do everything on the list, it’s nice to have a list of ideas to reference.
It looks like you have some lovely plans for the summer. I hope you can do everything on your list!
Wishing you a lovely day.
xoxo
To have so many markets to choose from. Jealous over here in NC. We have a couple that are close enough to my home, other than that, they are far and few between. It gets so hot here that we are limited to local produce. Take advantage of those markets. Cute hijack!! We had a stump once too, took us 5 years to get that sucker out. Don’t tell the hubs that though.
oh that’s a bummer Michelle! We have probably 10 or so within driving distance of us.
5 years?! That does not give me much hope. Eek!
I think I should do more evening walks with my family! Love your list!
Evening walks are the best! It’s too hot here to do them from June-Sept, but Oct-May it’s so nice to do! I also think it’s so funny you call grilling BBQing. For us, BBQ is meat that’s smoked for hours and hours… Burgers that take 15 mins (or fish, or veggies, etc) is called grilling 🙂 Xoxo
What a great summer bucket list! Going on hikes is always a fun thing, I wish we had more places to hike around here. And yes to bbqs! I need to bust out our grill this weekend!
We really need to add Lake Chelan to our list, too! Instead of heading out that way, we’ve been taking her west to the coast (even in the winter) to get a lot of exposure to hiking and the rain forest.
But seriously – this mom could use a nice, sunny, relaxing weekend at the lake!
